About Equip2Play DR
Equip2Play DR is a nonprofit that was born from a love for the game of baseball and an even greater love for the Dominican Republic and its incredible people. During my time serving as a missionary in the Dominican Republic, I was deeply inspired by the warmth, resilience, and passion of the youth I met. Baseball isn’t just a game in the Dominican Republic—it’s a way of life, a source of hope, and a pathway to a brighter future.
Now, as a professional baseball player for the Boston Red Sox, I’ve seen firsthand how access to the proper equipment can shape a player’s development and open doors to new opportunities. While in the Dominican Republic, I witnessed the challenges many young athletes face in pursuing their dreams. A lack of gear often limited their opportunities, even though their talent and determination were unmatched. It was during those moments that the idea for Equip2Play DR was planted. I knew I wanted to give back to the country and its youth in a meaningful way.
